 REBEL SPORT JUNIOR PREMIER LEAGUE

2008 saw the introduction of the Rebel Sport Junior Premier League with 70 players competing in the Football Queensland South East Queensland Junior League (the inaugural squad).

Our new team of technical advisers and quality coaches trained and developed a very successful result for our first year and our Under 15 boys finished top of the table.

In season 2009 our Under 12 and Under 15 boys and Under 12 girls finished top of the table. Under 13 and under 14 boys and Under 14 girls finished runners up in 2nd place and our Under 16 girls finished in 6th place. A fantastic season and effort by all our Representative players.

These players signed to play for Sunshine Coast Football exclusively with shadow players signing with one of our Sunshine Coast Football Clubs and then available to be called upon in the event of injury etc. when required.

The performance of the Sunshine Coast program has surpassed expectations – the level of commitment by the players has been exceptional both on and off the field, the behaviour has been exemplary.

Everyone involved in this initiative must be congratulated, parents for the support and encouragement of their children, players for their hard work and commitment to strive to be the best they can be, Coaches for their dedication and hard work and especially for keeping focussed on the aims of the development of the sport.

23 individual players were identified for state development camps (U/12, U/13, U/12G) or for the state squads (U/14,U/14G,U/15,U/16G) in season 2009 with 1 player Jordan Thurtell playing for our National Under 13 team. Sunshine Coast Football will nominate 7 squads in the 2010 Rebel Sport Junior Premier League, which will be 4 boys squads and 3 girls squads.
